A major medical group in Georgia suffered a cyberattack last year that compromised the sensitive data of 626,540 people, according to new documents from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.<\/p>

ApolloMD notified customers of the breach in September and submitted a full breakdown of the number of people affected to federal regulators on Tuesday. The group provides multi-specialty physician services to more than 100 hospitals and operates 125 clinics in 18 states, treating approximately 4 million patients annually.<\/p>

The group notified the victim of the incident in September, and the investigation revealed that hackers breached its IT systems on May 22-23 and accessed patient information from affiliated physicians and clinics, including names, dates of birth, addresses, diagnostic records, dates of service, treatments rendered, health insurance information and Social Security numbers.<\/p>

In June 2025, the Qilin ransomware group admitted responsibility for the attack. The group has launched numerous attacks against the healthcare industry over the years, disrupting hospital services in several states in the U.S. last year, as well as attacking U.K. healthcare organizations in 2024.<\/p>

Research by Cisco Talos shows that the hacker group publicized the information of an average of about 40 victims per month last year.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
